Biography:
Politics being my second prayer, I am proud to serve as the Convenor of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Chittagong Metropolitan Unit.
Being born and raised in Chittagong, my involvement with politics began when I became involved with Bangladesh Chhatra League in 1982 during my graduation, and soon elected as the Joint Convenor of BCL, Tigerpass Unit, Chittagong. Soon I took over the post of President (in-charge) of BCL, Doublemooring unit, Chittagong and served in the post from 1986-89. Followed by the duty, I
was selected as the Publication Secretary, BCL Chittagong Central Committee, a post where I served for seven years up until 1996.
After serving in the post until 1996, I came back as the Joint Secretary (1st) of Bangladesh Awami
Jubo League in 2003 during the time of BNP-led Four Party alliance government and served in the post until 2013.
I also served as General Secretary(in-charge) of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, Central Committee,Chittagong for a short period of two months, during the City Corporation election in Chittagong.
In the 90’s a I got involved in mobilizing the local students to resist War Criminal Ghulam Azam from coming in Chittagong. I was selected as the Joint Convenor of the Committee of Youth Alliance for Struggle against Ghulam Azam back then.
I started doing politics since I was 19. And as said before, my politics started by walking the path of risk and hardship. I know my constituency well, as I am heavily engaged with the community living here.
Currently I am serving as the president of two Primary and High School, besides serving in the executive board of numerous educational institution. I am also holding the position of Chief Advisor of two local mosques, namely tigerpass Central Jame Mosque and Middle-tigerpass Jame Mosque and Advisor of another mosque. I founded “Proyash”- a social welfare organization and serving as its Chief Director since 2010. I have also founded “Chittagong Co-operative Bank” and served as Director there up until 2011. As I have an natural interest in sports, I founded “Kallol Sports Club” and helped establishing “Tigerpass Sports Club” as well.
With my high-engagement in social activities and welfare, I can proudly say that I represent the true grassroot inspiration of the people.
Apart from my political career, I succeeded in business as well. Right now I am the Chairman of Property Vally Limited and Proprietor of Global Media Ltd. I am also the managing director of Pharma Agro Limited and Buildmax Limited. I run my business as a way to accommodate people of my constituency and my political coworkers, who are struggling financially.
I was born in Chittagong in 1967, graduated from Chittagong University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1986. I am happily married and have one son and daughter.
I started my political career in one of the most darkest, deepest and toughest time of the party in the post-liberation period of Bangladesh. My party activists and local people are my strength, inspiration and source of pride in my politics.
My aim in politics and political philosophy is simple- fighting Poverty, Hunger, Terrorism and Communalism, through helping to implement “Vision 2021 and 2041”.
I stood by my leader, beloved daughter of the father of the Nation, leader of the leaders, live legend, and a poet of politics Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina since I started understanding politics and wish to follow her until my deathbed.
With the desire of further development of the country and a firm aim to implement the vision of my great leader, the father of the nation Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who taught me into being what I am today, I will continue to advance my political activities.
I hope to breath my last while following the command of my leader and in her shown shining path.
Joy Bangla, Joy Bongobondhu, Bangladesh Chirojibi Houk (Long Live Bangladesh).
