Categorization

Please keep the categorization of Egyptian names on a First name-basis, rather than a last name one. In Egypt, last name are insignificant, because they change with time. For instance, if your name is FIRST MIDDLE LAST, your son or daughter who has X as first name, will be called X FIRST MIDDLE. Thus, with time, your last name disappears and, 3 generations later, even your 1st name will disappear. Your grandson or grand-daughter will have your first name as their last name. This is why Egyptian names are and should continue to be categorized on a first name basis. Thanks for your understanding.

That's an interesting fact about egypt, but most other nations i know of put more importance on the family name, which is usually the last one(with the exception ofthe south korean prez). so it's rather ungainly to organize all egyptian people on a first name basis, while most everyone else is categorized by last name. It may make looking egyptians up easier egyptians, but it will complicate things for most everyone else, the good of the many as they say... Da Baron (talk) 23:08, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lanternix, I'm not sure that coincides well with Wikipedia's WP:NPOV policy. On Wikipedia and according to Wikiproject Biography all bio's should be sorted Lastname, Firstname. Egyptian names shouldn't get any special treatment on Wikipedia just because they consider their surnames insignificant. -- œ 01:53, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Better image already on Wikipedia !

Since this article is all about MG as a beauty pageant titleholder, it seems appropriate to point out that her appearance in the image in Copts is much better than the one on this page here. Absolutely stunning. Old_Wombat (talk) 09:06, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
