Caption

[edit]

I think that the caption of the photo needs changing - it is completely irrelevant to the picture, and contains a external link to a word document. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 194.176.105.36 (talk) 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Hopefully the one I added today is better. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 19:34, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Community involvement

[edit]

The following does not seem encyclopedic.

The Midcounties Co-operative does a lot for local communities, including giving grants to community groups. There is a lot of information on how the society helps different communities on their website.

Perhaps someone can propose a better way of phrasing it. --Hroðulf (or Hrothulf) (Talk) 19:34, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Membership.jpg

[edit]

Image:Membership.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

"... is the largest independent consumer co-operative in the United Kingdom"?

[edit]

There is a reference for this claim: "After The Co-operative Group, see p.34 [http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-files/Society/documents/2012/06/27/UKcooperativeeconomoy2012.pdf" but I do not see how this pdf supports this claim. Midcounties comes 3rd, 4th, and 5th in various lists in the pdf referenced. Maybe the answer lies in what is meant by the term "independent consumer co-operative" (as opposed to other types of co-operative), but the pdf does not mention this concept. Repetition, and more inline references needed

[edit]

Repetition some examples:

  • "Fair Tax Mark" mentioned three times
  • "ranked in The Sunday Times Best 100 Companies To Work For list in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014" - twice
  • complaints about Co-operative Energy - twice
  • Co-operative Energy's use of renewables is mentioned under Energy and under Environment.

And quite a lot of inline references needed especially relating to awards and being largest in various categories. FrankSier (talk) 17:59, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
