Hello, does anyone know if Miriam Syowia Kyambi has any recent artworks more recent than 2015? I may add more information based on this. Hannah Belk (talk) 01:51, 1 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for your interest in updating Syowia Kyambi's Wikipedia article. As Syowia's new web developer, I'm currently in the process of updating her professional portfolio website at www.syowiakyambi.com. I'd be happy to work with you on updating the Wikipedia article concurrently.
Regarding works created since 2015, Syowia has indeed been actively creating art. Some notable pieces include:
1. "The Ancient Ones III (Kaspale's Ancestors)" (2021)
2. "Part of The Twins (Kaspale's Ancestors)" (2021)
3. "Kaspale's Ancestors / Distant Cousin (iii)" (2022)
4. "Kaspale's Archive Intrusion / The Vortex I" (2019)
5. "Kaspale's Archive Intrusion / The Vortex II" (2019)
6. "Between Us - Chapter 3" Galerie Mitte im KUBO, Bremen, Germany & Alliance Francaise, Nairobi, Kenya (2018)
Additionally, her latest solo exhibition, "Kaspale," opened on March 23, 2023, at the Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute (NCAI).
As I update the website, I'll be adding more detailed information about these and other recent works. I can provide you with verified information and appropriate citations for the Wikipedia article as we progress. This collaboration will ensure that both the website and the Wikipedia article offer accurate and up-to-date information about Syowia's artistic output.
Please let me know how you'd like to proceed with this collaboration, and I'll be glad to assist in enhancing the Wikipedia article with the most current and accurate information about Syowia Kyambi's work.

Proposed move: [Miriram Syowia Kyambi] to [Syowia Kyambi]

[edit]

I propose that this article be moved from "Miriam Syowia Kyambi" to "Syowia Kyambi" for the following reasons:

1. The artist is known in her personal and professional life as Syowia Kyambi since the mid-2000s.

2. Miriam is a Christian first name that she chose to stop using.

3. There have been many exhibitions and publications in the interim times at reputable galleries and institutions and she has held positions at universities where she is titled or referred to as Syowia Kyambi.

This change would better align with Wikipedia's naming conventions because it reflects the most commonly used name in reliable sources and respects the artist's personal and professional identity. I invite other editors to comment on this proposal. Please share your thoughts on whether this move would improve the article's accessibility and accuracy.
