Improper self published sources

[edit]

While I understand the WP MOS, however to say that a nokia published article is an improper self published source is going too far. I feel that the tag for 'self published sources' should be removed from this article. The draft version of the article contained a link (citation) to the CCC website, which has already been removed. -Ambar (talk) 02:52, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The link to the home site of topic is OK in "External links", but you shouldn't rely on primary sources, and specifically press releases, as their content is generally promotional and not trustworthy. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 08:14, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Compatibility issues and versions

[edit]

Hi,

In forums a lot of people are complaining about compatibility issues. This mostly has to do with incompatibility between versions of mirrorlink.

For instance a car stereo that support Mirrorlink 1.0 does not work together with a new phone that supports Mirrorlink 1.1. Still new car systems are delivered with the old version of the software.

I don't have insight in the specifics of this, but it would be a very welcome addition to this article.

Suggested addition: Which versions are available, which versions are planned and which of them are compatible to work together.

Looking at web reports from people using Mirror Link dificult to find a positive one. Seems people are sucked into purchasing Navigation apps because car companies have been fooled into installing this system. The Navigation apps all have the same poor reviews and talk of cost well in excess of standalone sat navs. The people feel oblighed to pay as they have a 16,000 pound unusable screen if they dont. Clever marketing by Mirrorlink app develipers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.225.81.37 (talk) 10:32, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
