Why are we edit warring on this page with no discussion?

[edit]

This morning I semi-protected this page for two days on the good faith report of one contributor at WP:RFPP. I'm taking no sides as to why there is dispute, and I'm not assigning myself responsibility to resolve page issues, but as the protecting admin, I'm inviting all who disagree to make their case here and I will offer to keep order if agreed. For those thinking this is a vandalism issue, please restrain such allegations; my reading of the edit summaries by blankers is that these blanked sections might reasonably be considered attacks on a BLP with inadequate sourcing (BLP attacks subject to immediate blanking by any editor, summary blanking explicitly permitted under BLP policy). I am not myself so assessing; I am sufficiently persuaded of the possibility the blankers might have a BLP case (which I urge them to make) that I suggested to the RfPP reporter this talk thread might prove useful. If I am mistaken to give these blankers such a say, someone please trout me appropriately. Otherwise, please discuss in a civil manner, which is my entire motivation in commencing this thread BusterD (talk) 23:49, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

BusterD, I've been reaching out to the users who are attempting to blank this BLP on their user tp's (User talk:Hasan Ul Hasan and User talk:110.39.150.58). But their concerns don't hold water. The information in this BLP is well-sourced and definitely not libelous, despite what they're claiming. — Saqib (talk) 04:07, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yours is the consensus, Saqib, being the status quo position, the current page wording, and the only defended assertion in this discussion to date. Thank you for notifying relevant contributors and linking them here. If none of them shows up to assert BLP with a reasonable case, you may safely call such assertions by those editors mere vandalism. For now, let's extend our good faith. We should always err on the side of "first do no harm" when we're dealing with living subjects. BusterD (talk) 15:24, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

– Reliable references mostly refer to him as Mohsin Naqvi, not by his full name. Ngram-style evidence from major reliable references is given below:

The obscure poet is likely non-notable and is cleary not the primary topic. 213.89.196.212 (talk) 10:33, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely, it makes sense, so consider it  DoneSaqib (talk I contribs) 11:24, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
