Hi In your reversion of my old edit to monopole you justified it by ref to WP:MOSDAB but I can only see that it says "transcluding templates are discouraged " - Did I miss some advice to avoid other templates such as {{colbegin ? - Rod57 (talk) 21:52, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

All MOSes follow current best practice AFAIK. There's reasons I can think the template is a bad idea: Templates are used sparingly, e.g. Ship templates are not used. The colbegin columns go against a desirable quality of a link at the start of the line per MOSDAB, and more than one link per entry (read line) per MOSDAB (although not technically applicable, just stylistically). I've not seen it used before, but if you show me other dabs with these templates I'll check them out. Widefox; talk 22:24, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
