Will review in the coming weeks. To start, there are several sections that are just bulleted lists that need to be converted to prose. The infobox should be free of unnecessary icons, such as those for highways. SounderBruce 21:03, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, I am not a contributor to this article or a reviewer, but I see that you (SounderBruce) were not able to continue reviewing the Letchworth article and it has been a while since you commented here. Are you continuing with this review? Meme Star27 (talk) Meme Star27 (talk) 19:52, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay, but I don't think this one is ready in its current state. Some comments below.
- Lead and infobox
- A few too many images in the collage
- Seal is incorrectly licensed and should use a non-free notice.
- The lead is too short for an article of this length. At minimum it should cover the non-History and Economy sections as well.
- Per WP:LEADCITE, either add citations for all statements or exclude them.
- "Thriving community" is not neutral.
- Link to stagecoach.
- Infobox does not need custom fields for airports and Interstate Highways.
- City councilmembers do not need to be listed
- History
- The organization is messy, with chronological leaps back and forth. I recommend restructuring it entirely to be closer to chronological order rather than by subject.
- Geography
- The second paragraph is uncited.
- There is no description of general topography, city boundaries, or urban form.
- The entire Neighborhoods list is uncited and needs to be fleshed out.
- "Important suburbs" does not have a clear selection criteria.
- Climate
- Most of the prose is uncited.
- Demographics
- No leading paragraph? A description of how the population has changed over time, in terms of growth and diversity, would be welcome.
- The 2020 table is too much and could be reduced to prose.
- Economy
- Table needs accompanying prose, such as largest industries and why certain employers are prominent.
- Real estate section needs to have fewer paragraphs.
- "$600,000,000 dollars" should be "$600 million"; the section is also problematic due to the use of projections from a booster-ish source.
- "considered a hub for retail" needs a proper source.
- Arts and culture
- The lists work better as prose paragraphs. They also need more citations.
- No information about public art, theater, or other aspects of culture?
- Sports
- Seems to only include baseball and softball. Look around for other sports as well.
- Parks and recreation
- Section is underdeveloped and should include some details about the listed parks and what programs are offered by the government
- Government
- Too many short paragraphs here.
- Citation is needed for the last sentence of the first paragraph.
- No description of the government's services or budget.
- Education
- Public schools should be expanded to describe the number of pupils and faculty, budgets, and other basic information.
- Colleges section needs more citations.
- Media
- Again, the lists work better as prose.
- More information about the newspaper, such as format and ownership, is needed.
- This section could also contain information about non-newspaper media (such as TV and radio stations) as well as the local library.
- Infrastructure
- Healthcare should also include clinics and specialty facilities.
- More links needed in the utilities section.
- 2018 is quite out of date. Any newer figures?
- Citation 98 needs a page number to verify whether it is being cited properly.
- "commuting-base" does not need to be hyphenated.
- Too many citations at the end of the second paragraph; break them up.
- "popular alternate route" is not cited properly.
- Principal highways and Major surface routes need to be described only in prose, as done in the Major highways section. The selection criteria for Major surface routes also seems to be lacking.
- "used to" would work best as "formerly"
- "most residential areas" is not confirmed by the citation given.
- Transit system needs more elaboration.
- No information about bicycle and pedestrian conditions?
- Space needed between the colon and "MOR"
- Information about the general uses of the airport is needed. How many enplanements in recent years and how many based aircraft?
- References
- Heavy reliance on sources from governments and related organizations. Look to add more secondary sources.
- Citation 30 needs a page number.
- Citation 33 does not seem to be a reliable source.
- Citation 34 needs to be in sentence case.
- Citation 51 does not seem to be a reliable source.
- Citation 53 does not seem to be a reliable source.
- Citations 73, 74, 75, and 76 are too close to their subjects.
- Citations 77, 79, and 80 do not seem to be from a reliable source.
- Citations 105 and 106 are missing page numbers.
- Citation 109 has a bare URL.
- Citations 118 and 132 use an unreliable source (IMDb).
- Citations 123, 124, and 125 use unreliable sources.
