  • ... that after failing to qualify for prestigious races as an athlete, Mounir Akbache (pictured) became a rabbit? Source: In "Mounir Akbache, un coureur au service des autres" (in French), "Why did you choose to be a hare rather than a runner? I was a good athlete [...] but it didn't allow me to enter the world's biggest races. Today, I have the opportunity to be on the starting line alongside an Olympic or world champion. I'm living exceptional moments that I could never have experienced as an individual."
In L'Equipe (in French), ""Since what they had done two years ago, it was no longer a myth to aim for the world record," jubilated Mounir Akbache, whose first world record as a hare was set."

  • Article is just barely long enough, but satisfies other requirements. I don't see any copyvio or outstanding issues (though I would recommend adding a second sentence to the lede). The hook checks out in its current state, but I think it's a bit excessively in length. How about something like "... that after failing to qualify for prestigious races, Mounir Akbache became a rabbit?" I think you can make this a great quirky hook by playing on the rabbit line without actually explaining what that is. Makes people wanna click to learn more. @Generalissima, thank you for your feedback.  Done I expanded the article lede, and edited the hook (only part I added onto your suggestion is the phrase "as an athlete" to emphasize the distinction between running solo vs as a rabbit, but you are free to remove it if you think it's awkward). --Habst (talk) 10:05, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I like the contrast created between athlete and rabbit here, it's good wordplay. Generalissima (talk) (it/she) 13:25, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
