Birth and Death of Muhammad
[edit]The article image for Siyer-i Nebi (file here [1]) should be a left thumb at the start of the section "Childhood and early life". It is an appropriate depiction of the prophet's birth and will add good context to the section.
It improves readability by setting a reliable signpost for a significant event in the narrative, namely, the beginning.
Rather than doing this myself, I will leave it to the first editor who agrees, as long as there is not consensus against. DenverCoder9 (talk) 04:24, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
- Just found out that there is a page dedicated to discussing images. Btw, if you're still interested, @DenverCoder19, I don't mind if the picture you're mentioning is included. And if you want, there are many other sections that don't have pictures, maybe you can add or suggest what pictures are appropriate for each section? Though perhaps it would be better if there was more variety, not just from Siyer-i Nebi. Hehe. Thank you. — Kaalakaa (talk) 13:57, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
Portrait of Mohammed
[edit]Why isn't there any attempt to at least put a portrait of what Mohammed might have looked like? I know it's a hard topic for Muslims because they are forbidden to draw any imagery of the prophet or God but this is a neutral article right? RickyBlair668 (talk) 09:35, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure what exactly you had in mind but the article currently has 8 pictures of Muhammad. Did you miss them? DeCausa (talk) 10:20, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- If you mean as a WP:LEADIMAGE, there has absolutely been attempts. A few short comments on that at Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Muhammad_images#Question_2:_What_image_should_appear_in_the_infobox?. Most depictors seem to have guessed that Muhammad had a beard. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:27, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- Because calligraphic depictions of Muhammad are the most common and recognizable worldwide, the current consensus is to include a calligraphic depiction of Muhammad in the infobox. And all the portraits available today not depicts how he exactly look like. Tousif ❯❯❯ Talk 17:00, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- I agree that the calligraphic representation should remain in the infobox. Hemiauchenia (talk) 17:05, 21 October 2023 (UTC)
- Also agree with current consensus. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 10:06, 23 October 2023 (UTC)

- There should totally be illustrations on this page. Illustrations are a standard feature of biographies on Wikipedia. 203.211.104.189 (talk) 00:00, 30 September 2024 (UTC)
