Expression of opinions

[edit]

The following edit[1] was in accordance with policy. It removed a paragraph, whose only citation was to an opinion piece written by Muhammad Saeed Noori and published by Al-Jazeerah on 8 August 2010.[2] WP:ABOUTSELF applied here, and the paragraph breached the first three of five the restrictions on the use of such material:

  1. the material is neither unduly self-serving nor an exceptional claim;
  2. it does not involve claims about third parties;
  3. it does not involve claims about events not directly related to the source;
  4. there is no reasonable doubt as to its authenticity; and
  5. the article is not based primarily on such sources.

The source is usable as an expression of Noori's opinions, and nothing else. If they are about the actions of third parties, Wikipedia needs reliable sources that those actions really happened (or did not happen).-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:06, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
