Notability

[edit]

This individual sounds highly notable from the text, but without any sources, much less reliable secondary sources, it is impossible to make that determination. Right now, February 2010, this article fails WP:BIO. Without appropriate sources, it is subject to deletion. The external link to the Akhbar El Yom Newspaper website doesn't appear to provide information about Mostafa Amin. It is in Arabic and the main page has current news. I did find one page on that web site that mentions Mostafa Amin as the co-founder of the paper along with Ali Amin, but that was substantially it. The Arabic Wikipedia article on Mostafa Amin is longer than this one, but is equally without sources. I note that the Britannica Book of the Year 1998 has a brief (100 word) obituary about him under "Amin, Mustafa". The Biographical dictionary of modern Egypt, pages 21-22, has a longer entry on him under "Amin, Mustafa", as well as an entry for his brother Ali. Unfortunately for Google/Yahoo searches, Mustafa/Mostafa Amin is a common name. --Bejnar (talk) 15:39, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mostafa/Mustafa

[edit]

Why is this article under "Mostafa Amin" when the English sources are under "Mustafa"? --Bejnar (talk) 15:39, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved it. "Mustafa" is the spelling used in the obituaries of the New York Times and The Independent. --Enric Naval (talk) 13:35, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ali Amin & unconstructive editing

[edit]

@105.43.58.17: Please stop adding Ali Amin's birth and death dates (or other related information about him). This article is about Mustafa Amin, not both of them. Information on Ali should be included only when it is relevant to Mustafa. Thank you, Tol | Talk | Contribs 22:48, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Open the page and return Ali Amin real date of death 3 April 1976 It is written in reference of nytimes and by his niece Safia . Fanatic muslims removed the real date of death of Ali Amin because it is against their bad references. 105.43.58.17 (talk) 05:50, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Partly done: We don't need to include biographical information about someone who isn't the subject of the article (like the date of their death), just because they are related to them. However the death date did seem to be relevant later in the article, as it was the reason he took over his brothers column, so I added it there. ‑‑Volteer1 (talk) 09:21, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
While it may be true that Ali Amin died on 3 April 1976, this is an article about Mustafa Amin, not Ali Amin. Zai (💬📝⚡️) 14:13, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
