Caffeine Content Wrong?

[edit]

It says citation needed for the caffine content; however NOS's website does not contain this information. Fortunately for you, I drink this stuff on almost regular basis. If I were to take a picture of the container (that's SO not a bottle) which outlines the caffine content with my cellphone, would that qualify as citation?24.81.247.86 19:47, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The caffeine content at the bottom of the page is wrong. How can you have 343 millligrams of caffeine in an 8 ounce serving when most NOS drinks come in 16 ounces. This would be 686 milligrams of caffeine in 16 ounces. There would be a media uproar about this similar to the one that is going on for the 300 milligram (8.4 ounce) spike energy drink. Although I can't verify this, this site seems to be more in line with the correct caffeine content.

I've had NOS a few times and the caffine content is correct. If I remember, I'll go buy a bottle and take some clearer pictures for wiki.Hurleyman 16:33, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If the caffeine content is 343 mg per 22 oz. bottle, the chart should be changed to indicate 125 mg per 8 oz. serving, which would corroborate the energyfiend.com link from Oshburg. I've rearranged the entries on this page to make it more readable. 75.180.25.103 11:25, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

as the above post mentioned, the levels of caffeine, taurine, and the such are related to the 22oz bottle and not the 8. I can't change the table. Someone else needs to do it.--The-outlaw-torn 01:14, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have a bottle right here, purchased in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. The 22oz bottle contains the following. Per 650mL: Taurine 2750mg, Caffeine 343mg, Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride) 5.5mg, Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) 16.5mcg. That is a ridiculous amount of caffeine, as that is about a third of the average overdose limit for most caffeine users. Have fun, kids! Marketing Update

[edit]

I'm not sure what wiki-policy is as far as responding to new information in narrow areas like this but NOS currently is also employing sex appeal as a part of their online marketing strategy. It would be notable if it was the first energy drink of its kind to employ such imagery, although I'm no expert. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.94.27.166 (talk) 16:19, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi NOS not only sponsors an individual MLG progamer. They actually have in the past sponsored the tournament itself. I recall specifically StarCraft 2 casters drinking it on stage during MLG tournaments in 2011-2012. Here's an article about the sponsorship: http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/news/major-league-gaming-and-nos-energy-drink-announce-strategic-partnership If someone else could delbe deeper that'd be swell — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:5C2:100:8C33:F033:4A9F:2789:D9CE (talk) 03:06, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Public Confusion of Energy Drink

[edit]

I restored this edit because it's valid to the subject at hand. Why exactly was it considered off-topic?? Jkister (talk) 19:06, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(i've said it once, and i'll say it again. One moron dumping this crap into his tank does not merit an encyclopedia entry.

OK Alkivar, when did you say it once? does that mean this has happened twice? Jkister (talk) 19:13, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't HAVE an encyclopedia entry, it has a two sentence mention in the article of the relevant product. --DOHC Holiday (talk) 21:00, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
"...coming soon it will come in a new 13oz bottle" doesn't have a citation at all, but it's on the page. At the very least, the allegation that this occurred is notable. The forum thread in question has had 700,000 views in 3 days. There are plenty of Youtube videos that have Wikipedia articles based on infamy alone. --DOHC Holiday (talk) 21:31, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No reason to doubt it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.116.192.32 (talk) 00:17, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Forums and chatrooms are not reliable sources. I could go there and claim that I poured human blood in my bike's gas tank and it made it go faster, that does not mean it really happened. Beeblebrox (talk) 05:11, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That jokey PSA is on the website of the maufacturer of Nos Energy Drink. --DOHC Holiday (talk) 04:00, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Restored deletion by User:JamesBWatson. If you have reason to delete this entire section, please discuss it here first. --DOHC Holiday (talk) 02:21, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It has been discussed here, as you can see. It is not notable by any stretch of Wikipedia's policy. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:01, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Are you guys serious?? I heard about this in the news on the other side of the world and it still doesn't qualify as a reliable source?? Let's see, there was a thread with hundereds of pages and it made the news but can't make it into a wikipedia article because there is a 0.0000000000000000000000001% chance that it may have been made up? Give me a break. Also wasn't the company gonna change something because of the incident? This is the most absurd ploitical correctness i've ever seen. Crazy blog?

[edit]

what the heck is energyfanatics.com and why should this blog be considered a valid reference for anything? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.230.45.164 (talk) 02:58, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Marketing Information

[edit]

The marketing section reads as several edits tacked on the end of the previous. It should be rewritten. Also, the tense of one sentence suggests that something in 2008 hasn't occurred yet. 76.29.122.145 (talk) 17:37, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
