Merger proposal
[edit]Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape appears to be a POV fork of Nanticoke Indian Tribe. I would like to merge the first into the second, much better article. May I? Bearian (talk) 23:00, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
- Agree. It will be good to place the first into its proper context. --Ken Gallager (talk) 13:11, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
"Disagree" - While the two communities are related, and cooperate with one another, they are distinct in their tribal governments. Corresponding links between the articles would be more appropriate, 23 November 2010 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.230.236.108 (talk) 23:50, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose. Nanticoke Indian Tribe is primarily about the historic ethnic group, Nanticoke, with a mention of the state recognized tribe. It should be renamed Nanticoke tribe or Nanticoke people and the state recognized tribe should start its article, Nanticoke Indian Association or be a sub-section of the main article. This article should be named Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians of New Jersey, if that is in fact the group that this article is about. -Uyvsdi (talk) 00:25, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Uyvsdi
- OK, What should we do, if anything? Bearian (talk) 15:49, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- I moved Nanticoke Indian Tribe to Nanticoke people and overhauled it so the information is now all cited and about the Nanticoke people collectively. That article now has brief mentions of the four contemporary Nanticoke groups. Most of this article is uncited so content should be cited or purged and the article focused on the state-recognized Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians of New Jersey. -Uyvsdi (talk) 18:11, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Uyvsdi
