Same team / diff teams
[edit]@NatureBoyMD: In researching the teams for the NML, I think the Stars of the NML and of the NSL are the same, with a long history of barnstorming from the 30s thru the 50s, mainly based on cnlbr.org. Do you have any other notes about this team linking them? Rgrds. --Bison X (talk) 17:16, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Bison X: I wouldn't be surprised if they were the same team. I see that CNLBR lists a "Nashville Stars" as a barnstorming team in 1938 ([1]). The group behind the proposed Nashville MLB team mentions the name referring to "several Negro Leagues baseball teams" ([2]). As far as any concrete links between the teams (ownership, players, etc), I don't have anything. More extensive research could turn something up. NatureBoyMD (talk) 20:09, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks. For the time being, I'm more comfortable calling them the same team (or collection of teams), but like you say it could change. Rgrds. --Bison X (talk) 20:16, 17 July 2020 (UTC)
@Baseballslim:I see you have removed the references to the Stars being in the Negro Major League. What sources are you using that show the Stars were not in the NML? If you believe these were 2 distinct teams that is fine, but there was still a team called the Stars in the NML. Please explain your removals. In the meantime, since the content you removed was sourced, I am going to restore it. Before removing it again, please discuss here. Rgrds. --BX (talk) 05:56, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
