Literacy

[edit]

"Navi Mumbai has an average literacy rate of 74%" "The literacy level of Navi Mumbai is 96%" Both from this article! Surely these can't both be true! Ecth (talk) 14:25, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the second one because the first has better sourcing and is, from what I can tell, more accurate. ~Andrew Keenan Richardson 03:03, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Need Pictures

If some one add more pictures in this article it would be helpful.

Education section

[edit]

I shifted the education section to a new article since it was too much in a list form and took up way too much space. Sports Olympics

[edit]

Interesting info. Can someone expand on this? When did it start? What are all the sports and games played? Does it happen every year? etc. GDibyendu (talk) 19:06, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

don't think it happens every year. Mayank12 (talk) 21:54, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Map request

[edit]

A map showing internal features and links to neighboring municipalities would be very helpful. -- Beland (talk) 18:57, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Super cities of the World" - source?

[edit]

I googled up and did a general search for 'Super cities of the World' that NAt'l Geographic made. I could not find the original source. Anyone sure about using that as a source?

Removing this for now. Couldn't even find that National Geographic made a tv series called Supercities. Ninadhardikar (talk) 02:24, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sister cities

[edit]

I wasn't able to find any information that would confirm the listed cities being sister cities of Navi Mumbai. If anyone has any info, please provide links. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emperornutz (talkcontribs) 18:27, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Weatherbox data needs checking

[edit]

There have been a number of changes to the climate data in the Weatherbox for this article in recent months, some through anonymous IP users, as well as one registered user who has a history of inserting unsourced data. In some cases the data such as averages and high and low temperatures for individual months have been changed by up to several degrees, which doesn't seem very plausible. I've tried to find the correct information on-line, but unfortunately the figures for Navi Mumbai don't seem to be readily available on the India Meteorological Department website. It would be good if someone with relevant knowledge or experience can check the figures, and provide a reliable source for verification. Cheers, Bahudhara (talk) 02:32, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Area

[edit]

This sentence didn't make sense, to me:

  • with 163 square kilometres (63 sq mi) under the jurisdiction of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and a total area of 344 square kilometres (133 sq mi).

The municipal corporation clearly is 344 square kilometers in size. Now, I can see if it is meant that only 163 square kilometers, of it is developed, but that doesn't mean that the city doesn't control the rest of the land or that the rest of the land isn't in its boundaries. Explain to me what this sentence means. --Criticalthinker (talk) 09:54, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

But according to the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation's website the area under its jurisdiction is only about 108.63 sq. kms. and not the whole of Navi Mumbai. The rest is under Cidco. — Deepak_HK@talk 15:41, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Improved the lead section of the article.

[edit]

The lead section has been improved. The issue has been removed from them multiple issues message box by me. Review it if necessary. Thanks — Deepak_HK@talk 12:15, 16 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

en route??

[edit]

What's en route? 2402:E280:3D6B:AB:8DCB:5F5B:3977:D146 (talk) 05:51, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

en route means "on the way" or "along the way". In the article I have added a "to" after en route, to improve the sentence. - Arjayay (talk) 13:10, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
