His name should be corrected according to the information given on page Waraka ibn Nawfal. 68.100.160.250 (talk) 04:00, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Waraka ibn Nawfal ibn Asad ibn Abd-al-Uzza ibn Qusayy Al-Qurashi (Arabic ورقه بن نوفل بن أسد بن عبد العزّى بن قصي القرشي) was the paternal first cousin of Khadija. 68.100.160.250 (talk) 04:04, 12 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that the name of the article should be changed. I think it unlikely in the extreme that the Nawfal who tied Abu Bakr to Talha was the same Nawfal who was the father of Waraka. By the time of the persecution (c.614-616), his son Waraka had already died of old age.
According to Ibn Ishaq (Guillaume's translation, p. 337), the tormenter of Abu Bakr and Talha was named Nawfal ibn Khuwaylid ibn Asad ibn Abduluzza.
So the name attributed as of today on Wikipedia is correct, though his relationship to Khadija is misrepresented. It appears he was actually her paternal brother. Petra MacDonald 01:49, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
On reflection, I don't see why this is controversial. Ibn Ishaq is usually correct about basic things like genealogies, so I have changed the information to state that Nawfal was the "son" of Khuwaylid and "brother" of Khadija; by implication, the "grandson" of Asad.
Anyone who disagrees is welcome to produce a source that demonstrates why Ibn Ishaq was wrong.Petra MacDonald 21:32, 12 March 2014 (UTC)
