Advanced technology in the house
[edit]So far, the article only talks about the design of the house and gardens, as well as the decoration and furnishings. In addition to all that, the house contained rather advanced technology, featuring things like an elaborate central heating system, electric servant call bells, a standby diesel generator, central vacuum cleaner, a projection room, a bowling alley, and numerous other items. I cannot add them to the article because the way I learned about them would be considered "original research" (I saw them firsthand). Also, the article gives the impression that the entire house is furnished with antiques and vintage artwork exclusively, and that isn't entirely true. The DuPonts bought what they liked and weren't particular about having only genuine antiques. Also, the collection of lovingly maintained vintage automobiles deserves a mention. Information correction 10/6/2021
[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
I would like to request the following changes to fix information. Current 300-acre , Edit 200-acre Current five floors , Edit 4 floors Current Nemours Mansion and Gardens , Edit Nemours Estate
Reasoning 300 acres was the total grounds before 100 was used to create the hospital, as such the Estate grounds is now 200 acres. The mansion is only four floors and was never five floors. Nemours mansion and Gardens went through a rebranding years ago and the name was changed to Nemours Estate.
