obsolete

[edit]

The Straits Times reported that the church has given SGD581,500 to community groups and charities from April 2007 to March 2008.[7][dated info] --> This statement says that the donations given to these groups and charities was only taken place between April 2007 and March 2008. However, there is no mention of another donations in future dates (e.g. year 2009, 2010, ...) . Kimberry352 (talk) 06:17, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the statement about donation to community groups and charities (as described above) is obsolete, it is removed due to old date and lack of periodic update (e.g. 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and so on). Kimberry352 (talk) 03:27, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Its fine to leave the information as is, just because the later donations were not reported does not make the news of the previous donations obsolete. Not unless there was a retraction. Not all donations make the news. Anyway more recent donation figures can easily be derived from their annual financial reports. The problem is those would be primary sources, and secondary sources are preferred here. Zhanzhao (talk) 06:29, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Is there official annual financial report from the official New Creation Church as www.newcreation.org.sg? I feel financial report to "show off" may not be appropriate under Outreach section. Kimberry352 (talk)
-- Updated: I just emailed to New Creation Church (NCC) for the enquiry, with CC to Charity Commissioner of Singapore. Expecting NCC to implement annual financial reports in its website for great transparency and assurance. Kimberry352 (talk) 17:58, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm strange. Just went to the website, I though the financial reports would have been readily available but guess its not. However I did find press page, which contains a list of Straits Times news reports of their (reported) donation history. This would be a good starting point if you need more recent outreach figures to continue editing that section. Just remember to reference Straits Times by date and page as if it were a hardcopy rather than the PDF link.Zhanzhao (talk) 20:02, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

10% of church budget for outreach - outdated?

Under Outreach section, the statement "10% of the church's budget (US$4 million a year) is set aside for missionary work[4]" was published under CBN News website on year 2008. The time difference between year 2008 and today is almost 3 years. Will the church continue to dedicate 10% of its budget to community groups and charities this year? Recently there is no public news about donation announced by the church in print and online. In case that there is no revealing evidence, the statement (as describe above) should be removed asap. Kimberry352 (talk) 03:38, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

10% of annual budget still applies since year 2008? It would be nice if it could supported by the primary source such as the official New Creation Church's financial report. Currently, there is no financial reports on its website. Kimberry352 (talk) 18:00, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As for CBN article dated on 1 Jan 2008, ten percent of the church's total budget is set aside for missionary work itself, not mentioning about charity and community groups. I recently checked with unclassified governmental organizations by email. PM me if request for email archive. Kimberry352 (talk) 08:23, 28 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, there seems to be no actual contradiction with whatever is being presented in the article right now. To make it more specific, we can add a mention tha t" according to 2008 report, 10% of .......". Afterall the article mentions the missionary work and community efforts in different sentences and paragraphs. Zhanzhao (talk) 07:23, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for replying late. This original objective of this topic is to question why the church have not mentioned recent donations in which it treats as church budget since year 2008. Year 2008 report based on its church budget is only published, however, there is no latest information about church budget. Does it mean the church is tight-lipped since year 2008? If not, it would be nice to flaunt about its outdated financial report for its kindness towards those in need? Kimberry352 (talk) 00:44, 26 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Should the section "Clarification on Tithes and Donations section from the NCC wiki entry? I feel it is not very significant as people in Singapore and overseas might regard the section about NCC's tithes and donation as small matter. Kimberry352 (talk) 14:08, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The section has been removed as it is more like trivia. It is a small matter and has no issue with the alleged financial accounts in NCC. Assumed that the local public has accepted the clarification made by NCC long ago. Kimberry352 (talk) 10:40, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of NCC's affiliates

NCC's affiliates are Daystar Child Development Centres, Rock Productions, Omega Tours & Travelling Pte Ltd and Rock Books & Gifts centre according to the official web page [[1]]. Is it appropriate to write about NCC's affiliates in this wiki entry? Or does it sound too promotional? Kimberry352 (talk) 14:20, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ok thanks for the advice. Later I will add the brief description of NCC's affiliates if I have time. Kimberry352 (talk) 15:44, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
