Foreign Legends

[edit]

Shouldn't this list be revised? Rather then actual legends it seems to just be a list of well known Foreigners who worked for NJPW. There's a few who perhaps have their place but there's also people like Giant Bernard who've only been with the company for 6 months and other then winning the New Japan Cup hasn't done anything particularly notable. Even Stan Hansen can't really be considered a Foreign Legend, he's a legend in Puroresu but that's mostly due to his work in All Japan. --Kiltman67 20:49, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hansen did win a major title in NJPW (the NWF title when it actually meant something) and feuded with Inoki in the process so he counts. Surge79uwf 22:37, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

NWA

[edit]

I thought NJPW wasn't a member of the NWA anymore. If this is true then the article needs to be changed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.202.130.33 (talk) 10:11, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

NJPW iPPV did not broadcast internationally

[edit]

My edit was automatically reverted back to incorrectly saying that the 8/4 iPPV was available worldwide. The 8/4 iPPV was originally reported that it would be internationally available, but that report was incorrect and the blogger who originally announced it, enuhito, apologized but correctly reported that owner Kidani announced he will broadcast internationally on Ustream in the future.

From enuhito's blog (links at the bottom)

以下木谷会長のコメント引用 I quote Kidani's comments as below

Kidani 「The first iPPV of NicoNico video was seen over 20,000 people. It was only available in Japan. But a lot of foreign NJPW fans requested me to expand worldwide. So I think next will be Ustream which is available world wide. I have not decided when. If a lot of people from many countried pay iPPV of NJPW, it would be incredible! So if it happens, TV asahi which broadcasts NJPW see pro-wrestling go next step. So many people from the world paying IPPV is very important. If NJPW start iPPV available world wide, many foreign web site will report the news.So I think this is new era. 」

So get rid of that line because your source was wrong, it's not true and I know first hand. It was region locked to Japan even if you bought "Nico Points" from the website nicovideo.jp which they broadcasted it on. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.72.254.7 (talk) 01:13, 24 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sports entertainment

[edit]

I'm assuming from the current article [1] that NJPW is a sports entertainment organisation, rather than an organisation involved in competitive wrestling.

But the lead is not clear on this point. It links to the professional wrestling page but that's not sufficient IMO, the text itself should make it clear one way or another. Andrewa (talk) 01:37, 15 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

NJPW show on AXS channel in the US

[edit]

Should there be something about matches now being aired in the US on AXStv cable station? Can someone get some good cites to help with adding such material, if so?68.51.193.141 (talk) 02:00, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's already in the history section, second to last paragraph. リボン・サルミネン (Ribbon Salminen) (LOLTNA) 04:35, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
