Should unsigned players be included in roster?

[edit]

New York owns the signing rights of their draft picks but, until otherwise announced, no drafted players have actually signed with the team. It feels a bit premature to include drafted but unsigned players in the roster section. I thought it might be best to raise the concern here rather than remove them without discussion. This topic has also been raised on the talk page of the Montreal PWHL team and the talk page of the Minnesota PWHL team. Spitzmauskc (talk) 23:34, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's common practice that the only players listed on a roster are those signed by the team. Players to whom teams hold the rights but are unsigned are left off. Beyond that -- and this is a general caution for PWHL articles -- we're not in a race, and no one gets a prize for being the first editor to "scoop" the others. There's no rush in waiting for official confirmation. Ravenswing 12:51, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
