Copy-paste from NASA press releases

[edit]

A lot of this has been copied and pasted from NASA press releases. This is not a copyright violation, because US Government material is not subject to copyright. However, the material is more than a year old and some is already out of date. Taking the time to paraphrase the material and create appropriate Wikilinks will improve the article. ubiquity (talk) 18:43, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The main source is NASA's website. The NextSTEP (first) is up to date because they all finished and did not get any more money. There is no money on NextSTEP-2 (yet) because NASA is still negotiating. If you want details of the equipment being developed see this press release

Restructure ?

[edit]

Next STEP-2 work and contract awards seems divided into the different appendices A->E : [1]

  • Appendix A: Habitation Systems
  • Appendix B: FabLab
  • Appendix C: Power and Propulsion Studies
  • Appendix D: In-Situ Resource Utilization
  • Appendix E: Human Landing System
  • Appendix F: Trash Compaction & Processing

Would it not be useful to organise tech-details/content/progress/participants/awards under the A->E headings (eg to facilitate a furture article split) - rather than just a single chronological listing of NASA actions ? - Rod57 (talk) 11:49, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

... I've made a start with existing content. - Rod57 (talk) 12:03, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Additional Next STEP-2 Appendices

[edit]

There are additional Next STEP-2 Appendices whose dollar awards are larger than the combined Appendices A-E and that support the development of space habitats. It would be useful to see the addition of Appendices G-I to the page. knowledgeinterested (talk) 16:50, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
