Contested deletion
[edit]This page should not be speedy deleted because Nigel Foster is a well-known kayaker.
Here are some further justifications:
In 2008 Foster was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Kayakers.
Foster has written seven books on the topic of kayaking.
Foster has published numerous magazine articles (Note I am in the process of getting links to these articles).
Foster has designed six kayaks which are in current production.
The are numerous links about Foster (I am also in the process of collecting links).
Foster is considered a hero and and a very colorful within the community of kayakers.

I have moved the sentence on Foster being the first person to circumnavigate Iceland up to the first paragraph.

- I agree that Foster is sufficiently notable that his article shouldn't be deleted. I recommend that you add to it, based on what has been written about him in independent reliable sources.
- I had to remove a lot of text that had been copied and pasted from this site (with a little bit of paraphrasing). Unfortunately, "close paraphrasing" is considered to be a copyright violation. You should just write something in your own words based on what you've read. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 05:16, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks Malik.
This is my first new article and so I am very much in learning mode. I will continue work on this article on 2011-07-03. There is an issue with finding reliable links for Foster. He has hundreds of links but they are all from commercial sources. But so far I do have a few from magazines and will be adding these.
I also would like to add links to the kayaks Foster has designed. Would the best way of doing this be to add links to reviews in magazines? I will research how to do this correctly...

I think I'm about finished entering data with this article for the time being. I would appreciate any comments as this is my first new article.
