I had no clue textbooks have started using Black Jack. As far as I knew, he had been called Nigger Jack. See this link for reference. I can understand if the redirect is controversial and needs to be deleted, but honest to goodness I searched under his old moniker and wondered why he came up referenced to "Black Jack." wp:OR but I never heard him called anything but Black Jack Pershing until the debate on the infobox. I would have studied him in history in the 1960's, so this may be regional rather than recent.
As to deleting this, no, it seems appropriate, I would oppose its removal, though I am surprised it isn't a disambiguation page. This was not an uncommon appellation.- Sinneed15:13, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
