Multiplanar camera

[edit]

On the warpath right now righting wrongs about the invention of the Multiplane camera. I bring attention to a 2006 article by Thomas Lamarre of McGill in Canada:

http://www.lamarre-mediaken.com/Site/Film_279_0_files/Lamarre_Multiplanar_Image.pdf https://www.researchgate.net/publication/236697521_The_Multiplanar_Image

Lamarre, Thomas (2006). "The Multiplanar Image." Mechademia Second Arc 1(1):120-143. DOI: 10.1353/mec.0.0067

See discussions, in 2007 and now in 2024 in Talk:Multiplane camera, regarding the development of the camera (commonly but erroneously claimed by Disney). Apparently this Japanese animator also played some role around 1933 before Disney's people, according to author Thomas Lamarre of McGill. The omission in Multiplane camera was noticed in 2007, and mentioned (likely by him) in Talk:Multiplane camera; however, Wikipedia editors roosting on that page and overly protective of Walt Disney made no mention of the knowledge made known to them at the time. I am fighting to correct these omissions of 18 years in Wikipedia and of decades in the general history.

This also means that this page should be updated to include this information. Anyone interested in helping? Zelchenko (talk) 07:51, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
