Story style and Original Research
[edit]Untitled
[edit]This article just increased about tenfold in size via the addition of a docudrama-like story about the history of the town. The author who made this very large addition ADMITS in his editing notation that it constitutes original research.
While the rule may be somewhat controversial (and I'm a little torn about it myself) Wikipedia forbids original research. If this history can be backed up with properly cited independent sources, it gets a lot better, and can be allowed in Wikipedia.
Furthermore, the new addition to this article reads like a novel (albeit a history based one) and not like an encyclopedia entry.
It's a great read. It really is. It's also very well written. Alas, it's not "encyclopedic", an essential requirement here.
Lets work on preserving as many of these interesting new facts as we can by rewriting the article in an encyclopedic way and citing independent sources. -Fish Man (talk) 22:04, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
