2018 rankings?

[edit]

Hello. I have recently edited the 2017 rankings to what is shown on the OECD Better life index website cited for them. The site mentions the 2017 "Who's life" study/survey, however when I actually looked in the files downloaded by the browser, the file with the numbers used to calculate the rankings is called "indicators_normalised_2018.csv", so I suspect the changes I made might be actually the 2018 rankings and not 2017. However I am not 100% sure which it is, or what to do now. Would appreciate if a experienced editor/fact checker could take a look at this. 2A0C:5BC0:40:2E30:20EE:9131:2A53:411 (talk) 11:43, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2020 rankings

[edit]

I have updated the most recent rankings, extracted manually from the pages for each country. If you use the raw data, OECD Better Life Index does provide a text description of how to calculate the rankings from the raw data however I tried to replicate and I couldn't get the same values so I instead have extracted from the main page. See here for example https://www.oecdbetterlifeindex.org/countries/latvia/

I presume at the time of writing the rankings were for 2020 as I have updated in 2021 (so the data would not be in yet) as such I have stated 2020 ranking, though hopefully, we can add in 2021 rankings soon upon updated datasets. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erigmo (talkcontribs) 12:02, 13 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Current rankings?

[edit]

The table does not agree with the official one. Is the latest existing ranking from 2022 (with top countries Norway, Iceland, Switzerland)? Cannot find the info on the OECD site. When is the next ranking? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.241.81.253 (talk) 07:49, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

On the basis of my discussion on the teahouse, I have removed a few external links and also added a few news links for citations as plenty of current citations are to the primary website / primary source. ANLgrad (talk) 14:33, 23 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing paragraph.

[edit]

I would consider removing the following sentence:

""" As increases in inequality and climate change force us to reconsider our ideas of growth and progress the OECD Better Life Index may become more mainstream """

because it sounds a bit unscientific as well as there is currently no citation for it. Geldbogen (talk) 20:45, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
