Merger_proposal

[edit]

Proposal:Merge Ocean energy into the Hydro power article and rename it as Water power per section Renewable energy#Water power.

Brings all the water power info into one article. Osmotic power for example involves both river and sea water, so it makes sense to discuss all this in one place. Charvest (talk) 06:14, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment I am not sure how useful this is. Hydro power is largely about power from flowing or falling water, derived (except tidal power) ultimately from rain. This is somewhat different in concept from this article. Peterkingiron (talk) 13:44, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I agree with the above comment. Hydro power is a subject in itself. merging it with ocean takes away the focus from one of the most importatnt sources of green energy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.160.36.178 (talk) 04:49, 31 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another merge proposal

[edit]

Marine energy is a new stub, and should probably merge into this article which is better developed. Seems to cover the same ground. Regards, Jonathan Oldenbuck (talk) 12:16, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed this merge; I will clean up the introduction to clarify terminology. Nimur (talk) 21:43, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
