No Beheading

Using the word beheaded is highly, highly unneutral to the Queen. A lot of newspaper at the time probably stated this, but it was largely to blacken her name and portray her as a bloodthirsty tyrant Queen of the barbaric Hawaiians; remember this was the age of yellow journalism. Liliuokalani never requested the missionary beheaded! She wanted them punished and as she stated in her autobio, she had no power over punishing them that's up to the legislature. She could pardon them, but she wouldn't do that. They did committ treason and during those days it was punishable by hanging and confiscation of property similiar to what Americans themselve would do. I even doubt Liliuokalani would hang them, since many who commited treason in Hawaii a decade before in the two or three Wilcox rebellions were either imprison or exiled from the kingdom.--KAVEBEAR (talk) 23:13, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
