Orchis ustulata

[edit]

This page has a featured article in the de: page (de:Brandknabenkraut) as well as articles in other editions, but doesn't appear in the list of species here. Does it have another name listed here, or is it missing? Rigadoun 16:20, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

According to the World Checklist of Monocots (Kew gardens) [1] Orchis ustulata L., Sp. Pl.: 941 (1753) is just a synonym. The accepted name is : Neotinea ustulata (L.) R.M.Bateman, Pridgeon & M.W.Chase, Lindleyana 12: 122 (1997). It is strange that this wasn't checked in the de.wikipedia. This checklist is authoritative. JoJan 16:51, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Second answer : It was recognized in the de.wikipedia that Neotinea ustulata is the more accepted name. In my opinion, they should have used this name instead the older synonym, even, as they claim, the acceptance of the new name is not complete (but they give no reference for this). Another species transferred to Neotinea (N. tridentata) was still listed here. I've now fixed this. Peter coxhead (talk) 21:08, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help for identifying wild orchis

[edit]

Hi, I need help for identifying wild orchis

Thanks a lot! Yann (talk) 16:12, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Yann: I've added my opinion on two species as captions – identifying from photos will always be slightly uncertain, so I'm happy to be corrected. The first two photos puzzle me; they look a bit like a dark form of Orchis purpurea, but the labellum isn't right (compare with File:Orchis_purpurea_.jpg).
