I have added references to him being vice president of the newly formed Wakefield RFC club and a photo - although I am not sure I have placed photo in correct place.Sorry in advance.

I also have reservations about the mentions of him playing for Wakefield Trinity and England post 1895, the year of the great split. Trinity would be playing Northern Union at that time, and Mackie had resigned from Trinity upon the split. Northern Union players were not eligible for England Rugby Union at that time. Therefore I think that Mackie would probably have played for England with another club showing as team and not Wakefield Trinity...maybe his University? Mackie played his two England matches as a Cambridge U player; I didn't intentionally try to make out that he was a Trintiy player during his international career, just that in 1898 he joined Trintiy, after his international career ended. The Trintiy reference came from the Barbarians book, which has him down as a Trinity player when he joined them. FruitMonkey (talk) 21:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but I don't believe he joined Trinity in 1898 - the sources I have state he resigned the capacity of Trinity in 1895. My source is Wakefield Rugby Football Club—1901-2001 A Centenary History. Written and compiled by David Ingall in 2001, who used contempory records to compile that book and I trust it more than the Barbarians reference. I believe that after he left Trinity he would have played all his rugby at Cambridge from where he would have won his international caps.

BTW thanks for moving the photo -looks a lot better! 92.232.204.141 (talk) 22:15, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, didn't realise I had logged out, the above from Richard Lowther. 92.232.204.141 (talk) 22:16, 6 July 2009 (UTC) as is this![reply]

I'll buy that, I'll change the dates on his infobox. FruitMonkey (talk) 06:58, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Me again. The main article suggests he was born in Redcar, the info box in Wakefield. Do we know which is correct? RichardLowther (talk) 16:38, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
