Over two months old, so a review is justified! --K. Peake 08:31, 30 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox and lead

[edit]
  • Remove Marrakesh from the infobox since that's not a studio
  • Replace hlist with bullet points per Template:Infobox song
  • WP:OVERLINK of Blur under producers but they are not listed in personnel under this role, so either add there or remove from the infobox if they actually did not produce the song
  • All of the writing and production credits need to be written out in the body since they are in the lead
  • "serving as an additional producer." → "also serving as a producer."
  • Mention the premiere before the single release; something like, "After being premiered via BBC Radio 1 on 3 March, it..."
  • Wikilink lead single
  • "It became the band's" → "The song became the band's"
  • ""Out of Time" is a pop ballad" → "It is a pop ballad" with the wikilink per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • "with some of the lyrics being related to Coxon's departure from the group." → "with Coxon's departure being referenced in the lyrics."
  • "was met with positive reviews" → "received positive reviews" and add what critics focused on
  • "also attaining success" → "as well as attaining success"
  • "Scotland, and the top 20" → "Scotland and the top 20" per British English
  • Remove "for "Out of Time"" because usage of accompanying makes writing the title pointless
  • "consisting entirely of footage" → "being made up of footage" to be less repetitive with the body
  • "exploring the lives of men and women" → "exploring the lives of those"
  • "on several concerts by the band." → "at several concerts by Blur, including" adding some of the notable ones afterwards

Background

[edit]
  • Retitle to Background and development
  • "and failed to turn up" → "thus failing to turn up"
  • "Coxon spent, what" → "Coxon spent time, what"
  • Mention when he left the band in prose, so the img text is accurate
  • "and "[the band] just" → "and "[Blur] just" because you used "the band" on the last occasion
  • "some time apart."" → "some time apart"." per MOS:QUOTE
  • "to continue recording the album," → "to do so,"
  • "new and exciting."" → "new and exciting"."
  • ""brought everyone closer."" → ""brought everyone closer"."
  • "tree in Morocco."" → "tree in Morocco"." but this sentence is not backed up
  • "the band worked with" → "Blur worked with"
  • "to "Out of Time"." → "on "Out of Time"." but where is the orchestral arrangement sourced?
  • Any sentence including a quote needs the source invoked at the end of it
  • Add the other producers after Ben Hillier with a source, mentioning writers around this area too
I added the info about the writers and producer in the next section, any problem with it? Alex reach me! 03:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing that needs fixing is that you should writer Hillier there, as his full name has already been used. --K. Peake 08:12, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • "and the first single" → "and the lead single" with the wikilink

Composition and lyrics

[edit]
  • Wikilink as pop ballad per MOS:LINK2SECT
  • Add PopMatters ref because you need more than one source to verify the ballad description
  • "and also features Albarn's unadulterated vocals and" → "before Albarn's unadulterated vocals and" since otherwise it sounds like these appear at the start
  • "simplistic drums," as well as" → "simplistic drums", as well as" per MOS:QUOTE
  • "string group, as well as a tambourine, are" → "string group and a tambourine are" with the pipe
  • "Lyrically, it deals with" → "Lyrically, the song deals with" making this a new para
  • "gently out of time."" → "gently out of time"."
  • "departure from the group." → "departure from Blur."
  • "with these elements blending" → "He noted the elements are blended" as a new sentence
  • "with Alex James's "loping" bass line, Dave Rowntree's" → "with James' "loping" bass line, Rowntree's" with the pipe (they will have already been mentioned by here once you add in writers)

Critical reception

[edit]
  • "received positive reviews" → "was met with positive reviews"
  • "called it "their most" → "called it the band's "most" per this being a new section
  • MOS:QUOTE issues throughout this section; these only apply when it is not a full sentence quoted
  • "praised the song," → "praised the song too,"
  • "in it," and "suddenly" → "in it" and "suddenly"
  • ""Out of Time" was "lovely,"" → ""Out of Time" is "lovely,""
  • "while Barry Walters from" → "whereas Barry Walters from" to avoid overusage of "while"
  • Wikilink Kitty Empire
  • "She also deemed it" → "She also deemed the song"
  • "was "the album's highlight", and described" → "is "the album's highlight", describing"
  • Italicise PopMatters
  • "finest moment on the album." → "finest moment on Think Tank."
  • Wikilink Alexis Petridis
  • Add something at the start of the AllMusic sentence like, "In a less positive review,"

Accolades

[edit]
  • Create this sub-section by using the last para of critical reception
  • "Michael Nelson of Stereogum also included it" → "Nelson also included the song"
  • "commenting it was" → "commenting it is"
  • "placed it at" → "placed the track at"
  • "73 on its list" → "73 on their list"
  • "placed it at number eight" → "placed the song at number eight"

Commercial performance

[edit]

Music video

[edit]
  • Remove "for "Out of Time"" after the accompanying part since the word implies this was to accompany the song of the article
  • "American military machine."" → "American military machine"." per MOS:QUOTE
  • "The video premiered" → "The visual premiered" to avoid overusage of video
  • "is centred on" → "is centred around"
  • "don't know anymore..."." → "don't know anymore..." since the ellipsis ends the sentence, plus you need a source here because it is a quote so MOS:TVPLOT does not apply
I removed the whole sentence as I couldn't find any source for it Alex reach me! 03:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No problem here since it's not a key part of the music video from what I gathered --K. Peake 08:12, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hardwick's quote should begin at the various stories part, as we already know about the documentary being inspiration by this point

Live performances

[edit]
  • The opening sentence is pointless because this is implied when a performances section exists
  • "It was performed on" → ""Out of Time" was performed by Blur on"
  • Mention that these performances were in 2003 and no comma is needed after Top of the Pops
  • "on Blur's concert right after" → "at Blur's concert directly after"

Track listings

[edit]
  • Shouldn't Marrakech be wikilinked?
  • Where the length is not known, keep it black after the title rather than having a lone dash

References

[edit]
  • Copyvio score looks too high at 54.8%; cut down quoting from ref 45 to resolve this
  • Author-link John Harris (critic) on ref 2
  • Cite Dotmusic as work/website instead on refs 3, 8, 9, 14 and 47, also fix MOS:QWQ issues with the 1st ref
Dotmusic  Done, what's wrong with the 1st ref? Alex reach me! 03:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Don't add double speech marks to a ref title because that format is already used for the parameter --K. Peake 08:12, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Cite PopMatters as work/website instead on ref 15
  • Fix MOS:QWQ issues with ref 20, plus Rolling Stone should be wikilinked on ref 13 instead
What's wrong with ref 20? Alex reach me! 03:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Same as the Dotmusic problem --K. Peake 08:12, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Author-link Kitty Empire on ref 21
  • Fix MOS:CAPS issues with ref 45
  • BBC → BBC News on ref 46
  • Wikilink BBC on ref 52
  • Wikilink Parlophone on ref 60
