I saw that this article at some point in its history had been tagged for deletion. I neither object nor encourage that, though I created it. My motivation for creating it was because it was requested by another article (flagellum if I remember correct), and my hope was that someone more knowledgeable than me would expand it.


The information that could be on this page could: describe the protein(s) composing the P ring, including e.g. any ratios if it were homomeric, the diversity between species and difference on P rings in Na+ and H+ driven flagella (if any), information about any whether any domains were more conserved than others and any knowledge of any physiological function other than serving as an anchoring element. I am clearly not competent to write about this, neither do I believe that it’s likely that much of the information needed to improve the article by expanding it with my suggestions are currently known by anyone. (feel free to delete this edit)
