I think the photo of this lady should be put up after asking permission from her, and stating the same here. Sonykrishna (talk) 02:06, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information from independent sources

[edit]

This is an interesting article and a great topic. Care should be taken though, to include only information that is found in independent published sources, not written by people closely connected with or descendants of those mentioned in the article, and not found in personal blogs or websites without editorial oversight. I removed one such source.—Anne Delong (talk) 17:09, 19 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a paragraph that was a copyright violation, but the text was replaced without explanation.—Anne Delong (talk) 03:47, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Madras Jews

[edit]

This article is almost all about the Paradesi Jews of Madras, indeed so because the ones from Cochin have their own article: cochin Jews. Most of the content from here probably should be moved to a new article, Madras Jews, and the one here should be kept as an overview article about Paradesi Jews in general. There appears to exist quite a lot that can be added. 223.227.40.123 (talk) 13:07, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A typical image from the gallery

I have removed the image gallery, 40 images of scanned documents. Here's a typical one, a document from the 1930s showing that a person in Madras was the legal owner of a vehicle. They are not relevant to the topic of Paradesi Jews, as far as I can see, as other groups in Madras also owned vehicles, visited doctors, sent letters, and so on. -- John of Reading (talk) 12:27, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
