Not "Swiss"
[edit]Biefeld was not a "Swiss" scientist.
I have his biography from the Denison University in Granville, OH.
He was born in 1867 - the bio does not say where, but it does say he graduated with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin in 1894. He then took his doctorate at the Polytechnic Institute of Zurich in 1900, stayed there teaching for six years, and then returned to the United States, eventually becoming the head of the Astronomy department at Denison U in Granvile OH in 1911. He remained in Granville until is death in 1943.
All of this info had been gathered as part of the research for a biography of Townsend Brown: http://ttbrown.com

- In the German Wikipedia, we have his date of birth as 22. March 1867, and his place of birth as Königswalde in Germany. I'm looking for further evidence of his place of birth. I don't think there is any argument that he studied and published in Switzerland, so I'm going to remove the dispute tag Nloth 00:46, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
Psuedoscientists
[edit]The link to this page from the "psuedoscientists" page appears inappropriate. Dr. Biefeld is one of the co-discoverers of the Biefeld-Brown effect. According to the article regarding this effect, it is a genuine discovery with real-world applications. However, the effecrt has been siezed upon by some UFO believers as evidence of the existence of UFOs. This misuse of Biefeld's discovery does not make him a psuedoscientist, but more a victim of pseudoscientists.
