Changing from actor to actress

[edit]

I wanted to bring up this subject as on her page it says that she is an actor. But of course, as female, it should be actress. I propose that we change to actress as other female actresses have actress in their introduction. Otherwise, should we all change the female actresses in Wikipedia to actor as well in their introductions? Mirrorthesoul (talk) 07:16, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It is really up to each individual whether females who act prefer to be known as an actress or an actor. It certainly isn't up to you (or any other Wikipedian) to decide. The term "actor" is a gender neutral term meaning "one who acts" -- SteveCrook (talk) 13:21, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Then you want to change all of the actresses pages in their introductions to say actor? Mirrorthesoul (talk) 20:00, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I don't want to change all of anything, and neither should you (or any other Wikipedian). As I said, It is really up to each individual whether females who act prefer to be known as an actress or an actor. -- SteveCrook (talk) 01:18, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Penelope Wilton - add radio work

[edit]

Penelope Wilton did radio drama and/or audiobooks for BBC radio. I don't have full info. and have not added an edit. One program I am aware of is: Program series: The Cazalets, BBC Radio 4, 31 December 2012. Role: Narrator. 2601:204:E981:78D0:284D:43CE:FABB:1246 (talk) 05:03, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lady Holm?

[edit]

She divorced Sir Ian over twenty years ago. Do we have any source or reference for her being styled Lady Holm since then? The Gazette notice of her DBE appointment just calls her Ms and in any case her own style as a DBE would take precedence over that as a knight bachelor's wife. Robin S. Taylor (talk) 23:05, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

She is entitled to that title, but AFAIK doesn't use it. --Ef80 (talk) 19:58, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
