A Google search for the terms "Peter Lynn" and kites turned up a whopping 166,000 hits. Looking at a few of the entries, it was readily apparent that Peter Lynn is notable within the kite making community. -- DS1953 talk 02:55, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advertisment?

[edit]

This page currently has the banner "This article appears to be written like an advertisement. (October 2013)"

Is this issue now resolved? It reads like a general biographical page to me. Can the banner be removed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.40.249.52 (talk) 16:38, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There has been no substantial change to the article since the banner was added by @HCPUNXKID:. Perhaps that user could explain in more detail what changes they think are necessary.-gadfium 20:53, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@HCPUNXKID: appears to be inactive. I agree with User:gadfium that it reads like a general biographical page, will remove the template. Clappingsimon talk 13:55, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's OK, but I think the article lacks more inline citations.--HCPUNXKID 14:16, 10 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Robert Frederick Lynn

[edit]

Is there really reason to keep the final paragraph about Peter's father? If Robert is truly notable, let's give him his due and write about him elsewhere. Retswerb (talk) 09:18, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article needs to be structured. as at present it is all one section other than a list of patents. Structure would include a section on his early life, although at present there's almost no material on this other than a mention of his wife. Do we know anything about his education? The paragraph on his father suggests the family has been in Ashburton for some time. It would be normal to mention his parents in such a section, and his father's involvement in woodworking looks like a relevant influence on Peter's career.
However, if you choose to remove the paragraph again, I will not restore it.-gadfium 17:13, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, a thorough re-work is in order. I won't remove the paragraph, but if I get a chance I may try to reduce it and work it in a little better. Retswerb (talk) 08:11, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
