Former Southern Railway train?

[edit]

Any connection between the Amtrak Piedmont and the Southern Railway's Piedmont Limited? If so, a chapter about it should be added to the article. ----DanTD (talk) 12:30, 19 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Locomotive Names

[edit]

I recall that the locomotives NCDOT uses for this line each have their own names. Would that be something worth adding and if so where? --WashuOtaku (talk) 16:01, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Extension to Wake Forest

[edit]

In this article, it mentions that the state is seeking $1.2 billion in federal money to help begin building the S-line, and that the goal is to extend the Piedmont from Raleigh to Wake Forest once developed. Not sure if that should be included or not since that is all that is known at this time and can always subject to change in the future. --WashuOtaku (talk) 15:33, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Here is another article regarding the proposed Wake Forest station and it mentions the Carolinion, but I believe they meant the Piedmont too. --WashuOtaku (talk) 15:37, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add P42 to Rolling Stock section?

[edit]

There have been a few instances that P42s have been sighted on Piedmont services leading or trailing trains. This video shows a P42 trailing on the Piedmont service, and I have personally seen P42s several times on the Piedmont. Unfortunately, no official coverage of this exists (Likely because they are substitutions rather than rolling stock owned by NCDOT), however I think that it is common enough to be worth mentioning. To be clear, I am asking whether or not we should add the P42s to the Rolling stock section, not saying I already have or plan on it. 80.166.137.162 (talk) 10:18, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All routes have occasional swapped equipment. Unless it's common and/or unusual enough for reliable sources to discuss it, we don't need to include it. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 00:12, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
