Modified the page because the school was not the first one to be named after Trudeau in Ontario.

Is PET really that special?

[edit]

I'm not so sure about every single standard required of a page, and so i'm not going to put up a vote for deletion of the page, but is this page really needed? I mean, it isn't as if we need to create a page for every single school in the whole world, only those with a certain significance right? And to be quite honest, with this school being my homeschool, I don't see the significance of it. --Steven 17:50, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No; With that logic, we really shouldn't have a page on every species in the whole world, because some of them are not 'special'. Wikipedia thrives and embraces new information, and this page delivers that (and yes, I go to PETHS). Okk 03:55, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know that many many other high school's in Markham have their own pages: thus we should as well. Also, as Okk says, Wikipedia thrives off of new information. The more the better. -Rob 03:11, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest...

[edit]

I really don't think its necessary to put the names of all Student Council members. It makes the page look very unprofessional and unencyclopedic. What I would recommend is putting a list of all the Student Council Presidents and Vice-presidents since the school was founded (2002). Xero, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I can't agree with you anymore, I mean do we really need to write EVERYTHING about the school, seriously don't all other HS has a cafeteria, art room, drama room, weight room, and gym?? I mean is it nescessary to glamourize about a school where alot of it's students don't really like it. RIPped, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
  • The sole purpose of this article is to not "glamourize" it, the purpose is for general knowledge for people who want to know about the school. People may have their opinions about the school, but this article is meant to have accurate and unbiased information. Wikipedia has a lot of articles that, for some, really make no sense, but they are there, and they're there for people to read. xero-7 17:20, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ranking and scores

[edit]

C'mon people, this is an academic school, yes. But you need to CITE YOUR REFERENCES when you add things onto this article. We need some references for the Fraser Institute ranking/scores and miscellaneous info. xero-7 (talk) 21:36, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so I was bored at work and went through the entire page, organizing it and citing everything.SaroopD (talk) 21:10, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merge from Trudeau Music

[edit]

The recent article Trudeau Music is about the school's music department. Frankly, a high school music department doesn't merit its own WP article (few university music departments have WP articles), and the article currently lacks references. It appears to fail the notability requirements for music, organizations and schools, and the general notability guideline. See also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Common outcomes#Parts of schools and school-related organizations, which states "Departments or degree programs within a university, college, or school are generally not considered notable unless they have made significant contributions to their field". This school department does not meet this criteria. Some of the content can be merged to this article if a reliable reference can be found to be used as a citation. Support merge, and also reduction of non-notable trivia (every high school music department has faculty and offers classes). The awards and recognition are likely the only things noteworthy, and should be mention on the school's article. Everything else is likely only of interest to students or their parents.--Animalparty-- (talk) 18:10, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge, as even many Universities do not have a separate page for their music faculty and participants. I propose that we cut the information in half and post it on the main school page. Redflorist (talk) 22:46, 27 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Support merge, since every high school in York Region has a music program. Anthonyliu (talk) 20:57, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Merged. 192.168.1.ip (talk) 22:14, 2 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
