Animé Series Characters

I'm wondering if much of the information in this section, the parts about the characters' names from the Game Boy games, is really relevant to this article. As already mentioned in the article, the characters are based off of the anime, so does it really matter what their names were in the original Game Boy games? --Brandon Dilbeck 04:57, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Gary's Pokemon

Pokémon Puzzle League = GC Panel de Pon?

Have you ever had the thought that the GC vesion of Panel de Pon (Nintendo Puzzle Collection) could be the Japan equivalent of Pokémon Puzzle League? It has about the same features (especially 3D puzzle mode), the same number of stages, plus it could even be that it was originally planned for N64: one, because both games have the same resolution, but the gc version became upscaled; and second, some official GC Panepon artwork(BEFORE it was even released on GC) can be seen in a Nintendo Power article about Nintendo Software Technology Corp.(February 2000, Vol. 129, Pg. 46), beginning with Furil on the first page of the article. Besides, a japanese Wikipedia article compares both Panepon games. My theory is that Intelligent Systems cancelled the release of the Panel de Pon game (Panepon 64?) in Japan, but Nintendo Software Technology Corp. retouched it to release it as Pokémon Puzzle League in USA. Any thoughts?

While the two releases may be technically equivalent, there are enough significant differences between the two to be considered separate games based on the same game engine. It is true that there are a lot of similarities in the presentation between the two games (including some sound effects), but unless you can find an official source that explicitly says one game was directly based on the other, I don't think it's something we can or should note in this article, except as just a link to a related game. — KieferSkunk (talk) — 23:53, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

"Only two" games based on the anime

..which is false. There are actually many games based on the anime, though most are Japan-exclusive. For example, Pokémon any Cards and Pichu Bros mini for Pokémon mini, all of the SEGA Pico and Advanced Pico Beena games, a few arcade games, and a couple PC games.
