Another example?

[edit]

Would the fact that the German word for girl has neuter gender be an example of this? (das Mädchen)--Srleffler (talk) 17:38, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don´t think this qualifies as gender polarity, because the neuter gender is grammatical in this case, and plural forms in German only have one article - die -, which makes them seem to be feminine. My native language, Slovak, also has grammatical gender, and the word for girl, dievča, is not only neuter but also a neuter declension paradigm (i.e., many other neuter nouns decline similarly to it). --2A02:AB04:2AB:700:D9BE:FB9B:BD95:2A1F (talk) 14:17, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
