New section about "panmictic populations" and some remarks
[edit]The panmictic population model often used in EAs can be regarded as a possible reason for premature convergence. This has been described in a new section.
In my opinion, the article suffers from its focus on genetic algorithms, although the described effect of premature convergence occurs in all or at least most EAs. This is also evident in the present text, for example when Ingo Rechenberg and Günther Rudolph, two researchers known for their work on evolution strategies, are quoted. I have therefore taken the liberty of replacing the term genetic algorithms with evolutionary algorithms in appropriate places. In addition, the term evolutionary strategy was changed to the commonly used term evolution strategy. Studi90 (talk) 16:54, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
