Grammatically/lexically correct use of the word "proscribe".

The article now (repeatedly) makes use of the phrase, "no punishment was proscribed".

I understand what the author is trying to say, but this seems to me a less-than-correct use of the verb proscribe. 2001:569:BDB3:8D00:F10A:83EC:ECA8:5908 (talk) 16:31, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
