Proposal
[edit]I just finished fixing all the disambiguation links to this page, and virtually all the incoming links were intended for Queen's Counsel. As that is clearly the most likely intention when someone links QC, I propose to make QC redirect to Queen's Counsel and that page has a hatnote back to the dab page.--Kubigula (talk) 03:54, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Disambiguation moved to primary title; no clear primary topic. Sceptre (talk) 21:00, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
QC (disambiguation) → QC – Queen's Counsel is not a clear primary topic for the term "QC" over Quality control, Quebec, Questionable Content, and other topics listed on the disambiguation page. A Google search query shows, on my end, Questionable Content first, then Queen's Counsel, Queens College, and Quality control. Elli (talk | contribs) 22:25, 22 October 2021 (UTC)
Weak opposeSupport or redirect to Quebec. With a majority of pageviews, the Canadian province is the clear WP:PRIMARY for "QC" and thus the redirect should point there. If consensus goes against my position, however, please consider this vote stricken.GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 06:15, 23 October 2021 (UTC) Rephrased my vote better. - Support per nom. There seems to be enough valid options for "QC" to make it the disambiguation page. This will also make sure that any future incoming links are for the correct target. Gonnym (talk) 09:10, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
- Weak support more Google results do seem to be for Queen's Counsel but things like quality control are there. Crouch, Swale (talk) 06:07, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support or redirect to Quality control. There is obviously no case to be made for Queen's Counsel as a primary topic. — BarrelProof (talk) 16:13, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Weak support Quality Control is what first comes to mind to me, but its probably Queen's Counsel in some countries. So a DAB would prevent bad links as Gonnym mentioned. I note that there are over 300 links in articles to QC that would have to be changed to Queen's Counsel, hense my weak support. MB 17:50, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'd be happy to fix the links myself if this RM is closed as moved. Elli (talk | contribs) 17:51, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support per nom.--Ortizesp (talk) 00:21, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
- Comment. This is a difficult one. Queen's Counsel seems to be the very clear primary topic to me and probably to most other British people too (I certainly wouldn't think of anything else other than a barrister if I heard the term), but probably not to people in other countries. But certainly no other meaning is primary. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:54, 27 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Per WP:NWFCTM, primary topics need to be determined without regard to national origin so "the very clear primary topic to me and probably to most other British people too" does not seem valid to me. Incidentally in my location in the US, Google results are mainly about quality control (with one even more local result). I agree that there is no primary topic given that and Quebec also being common intended targets—I came to this discussion from WP:BPAT where two links to QC were found to actually be looking for Quebec. eviolite (talk) 11:30, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Being British, Queen's Counsel comes first to my mind, but that doesn't make it a primary topic. It gets 800 views a day and doesn't seem a PT amongst rivals, but that just confirms that Quebec is a popular topic, not how many readers refer to it as "QC". If in doubt, and especially if different communities see different PTs, we should put the dab at the base name. Certes (talk) 11:53, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
