Fair use rationale for Image:BrisbaneLionsSC.png
[edit]Image:BrisbaneLionsSC.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

The result of the move request was: No move, and change Lions FC to redirect to Lion (disambiguation) (non-admin closure) — Amakuru (talk) 11:01, 2 March 2015 (UTC)
Queensland Lions FC → Lions FC – Club has renamed their footballing operations per club and league websites. Hack (talk) 17:17, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. This proposal would require usurping the current Lions FC redirect that currently points to Manila Lions F.C.. Is there some rationale that the club in Queensland is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of the search terms "Lions FC" over the one in Manila?
I doubt it since Manila Lions F.C. currently plays in the United Football League (Philippines), the primary league in that country. I do not see evidence that the Brisbane Premier League (first tier of senior soccer in Brisbane, Queensland, and third overall in Australia) has greater significance than the UFL in the Philippines. Thus, the redirect should be instead converted to a disambiguation page. Or even perhaps redirected to Lion (disambiguation)#Sports. Zzyzx11 (talk) 18:38, 22 February 2015 (UTC) - Comment, the Manila Lions do not play in the top level league (or even in the second tier) in the Philippines according to 2015 United Football League (Philippines) and the references used in the article refer to them as Manila Lions or a variant thereof. Hack (talk) 18:53, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- Even if I misread that part, "Lions FC" appears to be not, per WP:CRITERIA, "sufficiently precise to unambiguously identify the article's subject and distinguish it from other subjects". "Lions FC" is too generic and ambiguous that it can also still be considered an alternative name for the Manila club and probably the other football clubs listed on The Lions or Lion (disambiguation)#Sports. And a google search of "lions fc" does not give overwhelming results of the Australia club, and it is not currently the first one listed. Furthermore, the name should be based per WP:COMMONAME, the common name used by most reliable sources, not just the official name on the official web sites. Thus, I still cannot support it. Zzyzx11 (talk) 19:24, 22 February 2015 (UTC)
- It's the only club on Wikipedia currently known as "Lions FC", a hatnote to a Lions FC disambiguation page should be sufficient. Hack (talk) 00:53, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

- Oppose per Zzyzx11 ; "Lions FC" should redirect to the Lions disambiguation page; there are a large number of clubs called "Lions" or "Lion" and several have articles on Wikipedia -- 70.51.200.101 (talk) 06:54, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose and Redirect Lions FC to Lion (disambiguation) or The Lions, which need to be consolidated. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:14, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
