Hi there, I'd like to propose some small edit requests to the top section of the Ranker wikipedia page and some large edit requests to the History section of the Ranker wikipedia page. See below for the edit requests and let me know if approved. Thank you!

Small Requests:

  • What I think should be changed (include citations): add this text as the sixth paragraph in the History section underneath the paragraph noting Ranker's board members: In 2020, Ranker hired TiVo’s former VP of Sales, CE and New Media, David Yon, as its Senior Vice President of Business Development.  Not done:: Your request indicates that the purpose of the edit is to demonstrate that Ranker is "hiring an executive team from well established companies", so it's intention appears to be promotional. Also, it doesn't seem clear that the individuals involved are sufficiently known to make their inclusion be of encyclopaedic interest. Axad12 (talk) 07:33, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • What I think should be changed (include citations): change this paragraph: ""Ranker Insights" offers people voting correlation data for free, using psychographic correlation data to deliver personalized consumer recommendations (“if you like X, you’ll also like Y, Z”), and also audience insights to marketers, studios, and platforms seeking a deeper understanding of consumer tastes and preferences." to this paragraph: "Over 1.4 billion votes gathered over a decade on Ranker are used to power "Ranker Insights", a B2B data platform mapping psychographic correlation data that delivers personalized consumer recommendations (“if you like X, you’ll also like Y, Z”), and also audience insights to journalists, marketers, studios, and platforms seeking a deeper understanding of consumer tastes and preferences."
  • Why it should be changed: The History section describing Ranker's Ranker Insights platform does not currently include information on where its data comes from, which is now noted by the 1.4 billion votes gathered over the website's years in operation. The platform also no longer offers its data for free, so that description is replaced with the 'b2b' description to convey its current status as a service that is licensed to clientele. Additionally, the service is frequently utilized by journalists, who are not yet noted as one of its client categories.

  • What I think should be changed (include citations): add this text as the final paragraph in Ranker's History section: "In 2020, Ranker used its Ranker Insights data to power Watchworthy, a free personalized TV recommendation app that helps users build personal and shared watchlists and discover new shows across every TV streaming service. By swiping through a taste quiz, its users learn the probability that they’ll like or dislike any TV show or streaming service with a “Worthy” score tailored to their preferences."
  • Why it should be changed: A significant part of Ranker's business history has been developing its proprietary Watchworthy app, which is not yet noted in its History section.
