Wikipedia is not a WP:WINEGUIDE
[edit]Nor are we a sales brochures for winery. Content in winery articles should be kept to encyclopedic professionalism and talk about the facts of a winery and keep personal opinion (even if it is "sourced" personal opinion) to an absolute bare minimum (if at all). Comments like...
- "whose Israeli Barbera (2003) was described by New York Times wine critic Howard G. Goldberg, as 'inviting, soft, with an appealing cola bouquet and flavor.'"
- "The critic found his 2001 Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 'luscious and light.'"
- "Daniel Rogov writes that since its inception, 'Recanati winery has offered a generous selection of wines, many of which have been consistently excellent.'"
are essentially tasting notes and comments more appropriate for WP:ADVERTs and a WP:WINEGUIDE--not an encyclopedia entry. It would be more appropriate to say things like "The winery has received critical praise from people like...." and list people who has said positive things with a source citation to that praise instead of detailing the praise itself like Wikipedia is somes sales brochure for the winery or a forum for tasting notes. - Second that. Chronicling flowery language from wine critics also has a WP:TRIVIA feel to me. My thought is like this: only in rare instances would I consider it encyclopedic to quote scores and reviews from wine critics in winery articles. As an example, I think it would be motivated to mention Guigal's large number of 100 point Robert M. Parker scores for his top Côte Rôties. However, listing that Parker thought the 1990 La Landonne "...is marked by aromas of smoked game, spicy nuts, saddle leather, and a roasted black fruit character" wouldn't belong there, even from that critic and used for a 100-point wine. Lenny Recanati
[edit]Lenny Recanati of the winery is not the same Leon Recanati as the wiki article https://www.boatinternational.com/luxury-yacht-life/owners-experiences/on-board-with-lenny-recanati-owner-of-sailing-yacht-vivid--33901 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:387:9:3:0:0:0:BE (talk) 20:46, 2 January 2018 (UTC) http://www.globes.co.il/en/article-lenny-recanati-buys-tel-aviv-apartment-for-nis-335m-1001000831 This is a picture of Lenny Recanati — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:387:9:3:0:0:0:BE (talk) 20:55, 2 January 2018 (UTC)
- What? There are two different L Recanatis who both live on the top floors of a Tel Aviv building described in two articles and whose photos in those articles bear a striking resemblance to one another? Strains credibility. Rhadow (talk) 00:09, 3 January 2018 (UTC)

- The above poster is correct. These are two different people, both named after their grandfather Leon. The owner of the winery seems to be Lenny.--Geewhiz (talk) 09:46, 3 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Gilabrand: The above comments were added by an abusive sock puppet, so I reverted her changes. If you feel the article needs to be updated, please feel free to do it yourself. Billhpike (talk) 03:43, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Hello all -- The abusive sock puppet of many names, I think, has a point. Bloomberg thinks Leon and Lenny are two different people. I replaced the hatnote on the Leon Recanati. I am a little nervous to make the edits, not because the facts don't support it, but because our friend of many names is such a Tar-Baby. I wish now I'd never heard the name Recanati.
