Please add sources for the following statements: "He opposed the Montreal merger, but then also opposed the demerger. Many Côte Saint-Luc residents attribute his opposition to the demerger to his newfound status within the Montreal City Council's Executive Committee and accused him of promoting his own self interest over the city's. On June 20, 2004 over 87% of Cote Saint-Luc ballots were cast for demerger, rejecting Libman's position. For more than a year after the demergers he declared he would run against Borough Councillor and demerger leader Anthony Housefather for Mayor of the new City of Cote Saint-Luc but when it became clear he would not win, he pulled out of the race and announced he was opening a consultant business."
