Having so far only translated this article from the Norwegian (Bokmål) Wikipedia I want to make readers aware that I have served under Mood for 9 months in 1987 when he was a captain and company leader of Company B/BN2/BRIG N. __meco (talk) 19:13, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Having just declared Robert Mood a traitor to his nation I want to emphasize the caveat lector I have already stated. I didn't actually come to this conclusion until tonight (and although I'm not going to discuss any details of my sudden realization here, those who wish to read it can find it on my Facebook profile), so any past edits to this article ought not to have been tinged by this opinion. As for my future involvement with this article, I have some work planned that will be entirely based on reliable sources, and I believe I have the ability to suppress my personal opinion when making edits to controversial topics, as I have on a number of other subjects I have contributed to in the past. Nevertheless, let it be clear that I hold a very low opinion of my former commander, so the more intensely scrutinized my edits are by fellow Wikipedians and other observers, the less chance that Wikipedia's integrity, via the present article, will be compromised. __meco (talk) 20:30, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This article cites a Jordanian UN observer in Syria for the accusation made in the headline. The claims are that Mood is driving around visiting military installations with no apparent connection to the ongoing fighting, including Tartus where the Russian naval base is located.
This source, being an op-ed article is on the premises ineligible as a reliable source, however, if other media report on these allegations we should consider including a discussion of this in the present article. __meco (talk) 22:44, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And this is probably the original English-language news story about these claims. Note that it was published in Jun 13 whereas the RT article was published on June 19.
And this appears to be the original news article in Arabic, published on June 9 in the Lebanese newspaper Ad-Diyar. A machine translation of this article into English seems to confirm that the Press TV article is based on this article. __meco (talk) 23:28, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Another media outlet picks up on these allegations, i.e. they are mentioned in an article which does not mainly deal with these claims. __meco (talk) 12:30, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Today some wrote that he will step down from the mission should it not be prolonged (the UN Mission in Syria). Anyone knows if he really said this or anything else about what he thinks should happen next? 194.166.102.133 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:02, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
