[edit]

I came across this article on 7 November when it showed this image: File:A film still from "the Candle".jpg, which struck me as odd because it doesn't illustrate the subject at all. Later that day, I took this photo of Rhode in Times Square, NYC, and replaced the previous image (and added it to the German article). This picture was then twice removed on 20 November, along with a number of maintenance tags, by the single-purpose account User:Danielhewson87 with the edit summaries "Removed image as per request of the artist." and "Mr Robin Rhode, the South African artist has kindly requested that the thumbnail be deleted." User:Dl2000 queried on User talk:Danielhewson87 whether there might be a conflict of interest involved. On 25 November, the single-purpose accounts User:Dalewyngaard and 197.89.184.246 added the original, non-descriptive picture again. I don't understand why a normal picture, taken in a public space during an occasion which was covered on local television and press, may be removed at the (alleged) behest of the subject. I would ask for that picture to be restored to this article.

For many more photos, including of Rhode, see e.g. http://www.timessquarenyc.org/times-square-arts/projects/at-the-crossroads/arnold-schonbergs-erwartung-a-performance-by-robin-rhode/index.aspx . -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:31, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Michael Bednarek: Photo is restored by way of an infobox. It seems to reasonable to use both pictures, unless a valid objection to the Times Square image (and WP:COI is generally an invalid rationale for changing image uses). Dl2000 (talk) 02:48, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
